Welcome to my page! My name is John R. Dingley, but you may know me as Johnnerdraws.

I have always been fond of art. I was lucky to be surrounded by creative people growing up. My mam would be painting colorful landscapes and my dad would be taking stunning photos. The walls in our home in Dublin, Ireland are filled with those paintings and photographs. You can very well say that I was inspired by them.

Although wanting to pursue a career in art, life took a different turn for me. Instead of going to college for art, I found myself in the Hospitality Industry. After several years working in Dublin, New York City lured me in. Thrown into the fast-paced environment, I became a bartender in Manhattan.  After eight years in the trade, time was suddenly halted by the Covid-19 Pandemic.

I turned to art to clear my head! I began teaching myself different techniques, dipping into mediums I haven't used before. An enjoyable hobby soon became a passion.

My inspirations range from the photos my dad has taken,  to the whimsical paintings my mam has created,  to the culture and people surrounding me in Sunnyside, Queens. My number one muse, however, is my dog Bronson. He was rescued over the pandemic and it's safe to say that my life has changed for the better because of it!
