  Hi, I'm John — the artist behind Johnnerdraws. My inspiration comes from everywhere: my dad’s photography, my mam’s whimsical paintings, and the vibrant culture and everyday characters of New York City. But my biggest muse is my rescue dog, Bronson, who came into my life during the pandemic and turned everything around for the better.

Johnnerdraws is a Queens-based small business that began as art therapy and has grown into a celebration of city life and the animals who make it special. I specialize in custom pet portraits and whimsical animal art, all handmade using a variety of mediums — including watercolor, pastel, acrylic, and oil. Every piece is thoughtfully created by hand, from the first sketch to the final detail.

Giving back is a huge part of my mission. A portion of proceeds from every sale supports local animal rescue organizations, including Clear the Shelters, PAWS NY, Badass Animal Rescue, and currently Muddy Paws NYC — helping more pets like Bronson find loving homes.

You can find my work at the Queens Night Market, in all Lockwood stores across Queens and Brooklyn, and at markets throughout the borough. My products are also stocked at Annie’s Blue Ribbon General Store, Glameur NYC, and Rider Gifts Brooklyn.
